As with most independent schools, the cost to run Old Colony Montessori is not covered by tuition dollars alone. We also do not receive town, state, or federal funds. We rely on fundraising and donations from alumni, families and friends to support our mission.

Ways of Giving

Giving can take a variety of forms, and careful planning can help maximize the advantages to both the donor and Old Colony Montessori. Here are some of the ways that you can give:

CASH

Gifts of cash are the most direct and popular type of charitable gift. They are fully deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent provided by law. An outright gift of cash is considered made on the date the gift is hand delivered or postmarked if mailed. Therefore, year-end contributions postmarked by December 31 are deductible even if received in January. Also, because of the tax savings available to donors who itemize deductions, the net cost to the donor will be lower than the actual amount of the gift.
